Deal yourself in!

The card table beckons - buy in; sit pat; the next deal's about to begin.

The money's just a way of keeping score. The thrill is in making the hazard; beating the odds - nay: making the odds! The accomplished mechanic laughs in the face of lady luck - he makes his own luck; he controls the game.

A professional gambler never gambles.

What's your brief?

Many magicians are led to believe that they need to have a brief of less than 64th of an inch (about half the width of the white border) when dealing seconds in order for the deal to be deceptive. But the truth is, the rhythm of the deal is more important for it to be deceptive.
The brief can be as big or small as you like it to be. It was said that the theory of the small brief was a rumour started to discourage people from learning the second deal. According to Vernon and Giobbi (of card college fame), the brief means nothing if your timing is off- it's more important to be smooth. And learn to sail the card gracefully. :-)

The Cardshark.sg T-Shirt

My new t-shirt caused quite a stir recently at the Singapore Magic Circle Chalet... ;P I thought it'll make more sense to advertise for myself than some soccer player; and printing my own Dri-Fit t-shirt is certainly still cheaper than buying one from Nike. After some examination, there's not much difference in quality.

You will never see me perform a giant fan again. EVER.

See - that's the back of the t-shirt and my advertising babe: Ning the "MagicBabe". Not to mention the two photowhores in the background trying to pull a fast pose... LOL

Migration Complete!

I've finally completed the migration of the files I wanted to put on the original cardshark.sg site to blogger. I think geocities is just too damn unstable to host anything - and it's also full of bloody ads that drive me nuts.

I was kinda skeptical at first as to what blogger had to offer - I wanted to put more than just a bunch of text and my mushy feelings about who done what to who or what. I needed some personal space for my interests and work. After exploring for awhile, I found to my delight the flexibility of this site and I decided to move all my content here instead.

Well, let's hope things'll look better in 2008; this seems like a good fresh start! :)

Oh - any feedback is more than welcome!
